Elevating Society Through Skill Development
ESSD is a non- government, non-profit and non-political organization established in 2009. ESSD works in the fields of sustainable development, poverty alleviation and empowerment of the poor particularly, women by a wide array of development programmers. ESSD training centre, located at Stamford College, which was established primarily to cater the training needs of its beneficiaries, staff, NGOs and other organizations.
ESSD management is composed of the General Body, which has a sum total of 25 members representing different sectors, and is responsible for electing the Executive Committee. The Executive Committee consisting of is the policy making body of the ESSD (Seven members.) The Advisory Council composed of individuals having varied backgrounds who provide advisory support to the organization on matters requiring their expertise.
Empowering Women One Skill at a Time.
ESSD has officially launched a women's tailoring program with the aim of providing underprivileged women with skills needed to make a living. Empowering women and giving them financial independence. They will be taught various skills including tailoring, designing and arts and craft. ESSD hopes to train them so that they can design and produce goods, which will be sold with the help of ESSD. The collected funds will help these women in maintaining household expenses.
This program is funded entirely by ESSD with the help of Department of Women's Affair.
